The interest in peripheral bronchoscopy is growing among pulmonologists. Technologies such as radial EBUS, the GuideSheathKit approach, and the use of navigation systems have also helped to improve confidence in diagnosing remote tumours. Olympus supports the interventional pulmonologist and continuously develops devices to improve diagnostics in the lung. BF-MP290F accesses deep lung areas, approaches the lesion, and provides compatibility to confirm the lesion using radial ultrasound.
Slim Design
The unique design, combining fiber optics with a video chip in the handle of the bronchoscope, provides an optimal ratio of outer diameter to working-channel size. With the BF-MP290F, a 3.0 mm distal-end outer diameter is combined with a 1.7 mm working-channel diameter. This scope facilitates access to peripheral lung regions for effective diagnostics.
Wider Angulation Range
An upward angulation range of 210° supports smoother insertion into the upper-lobe bronchi and allows more of a bend in the scope when an EndoTherapy device is inserted into the endoscope’s working channel.
Waterproof One-Touch Connector
A new connector design minimises the effort required for set up prior to and in between cases. In addition, it is fully submersible without a water-resistant cap and eliminates the associated risk of an expensive repair due to accidental immersion.
Insertion Tube Rotation Function
The insertion tube can be rotated left or right up to 120˚ by simply turning a ring on the control section of the scope. This supports easier operation and
smoother insertion of the miniature probe and sampling devices and can provide easier access to the biopsy port during the procedure.
Targeting and Sampling Device Portfolio
